I'm just far enough north that we didn't get the worst of the derecho tearing through the area:

I may post a photo or two later. Being 27 floors up and in the lee of a large building helps a bit.
We've gotten a lot of storms like this recently. I wonder if all the extra heat in the atmosphere might have something to do with it?

Well, this is troubling. Aurora, out in our western suburbs about 50 km from here, recorded peak winds of 137 km/h at 10:14 and hasn't reported anything since: https://www.wx-now.com/Archival/KARR/2026/08/11/15/14
