A friend got me a ticket to tonight's White Sox game, but a bunch of my other friends are going to the Grant Park Music Festival to hear the Levin completion of Mozart's Requiem. Possibly I'll go to that tomorrow, except...none of my friends can go tomorrow. Le sigh. Either way, I get to ride on the Red Line! Joy, rapture, etc.

Finally, Ask the Pilot's Patrick Smith describes QANTAS's "Project Sunrise," which involves flying a super-long-range Airbus A350 from Sydney to London. That's a 17,000 km, 22-hour trip along the great circle route, longer (and possibly both trans-Pacific and trans-Atlantic) if they avoid Russian airspace. Now, I actually didn't mind my 14-hour flight from Dallas to Seoul in 2013, even though I sat back in coach. (It helped that no one sat next to me.) But 22 hours? I'd need at least business class. And some nice drugs that aren't legal in either Australia or the UK.
