• Jennifer Rubin rolls her eyes at stories that don't deserve oxygen, such as New York Mayor Zohran Mamdani (D) trying to lead a socialst takeover of the United States (he's really not). "[T]his is another self-own from insular establishment figures who consistently fail to read the political moment, heap scorn on grassroots organizing, and find solace in consultants willing to tell them excessive boldness is their greatest worry."
• On that point, Paul Krugman would like to remind you "there are very few socialists in America, but most of us are social Democrats." "What many, I’d say a majority, of Americans support is what Europeans call social democracy — an ideology that is OK with living in a mostly market-driven economic system in which some people make much more money than others, but one that advocates policies to tame markets and inequality with progressive taxation, safety net programs, and regulations."
• And while one radical twit winning a primary in a D+60 district doesn't signal the immediate collapse of the Democratic Party, Jonathan Chait warns that "the Democratic Socialists of America was formed in opposition to the very thing it has become." "The DSA now locates its vision of the ideal society in the world’s most despotic regimes."
• Jeff Maurer has similar thoughts, but Andrew Sullivan swallows the canard that the DSA is taking over the Democratic Party.

Finally, Antrhopic has redeployed Fable 5, and there's a bit of promotional pricing for it (it'll only use up half your credits before stopping!). I may try it out by running it over one of my applications, but as I'm not doing anything particularly difficult right now, Sonnet 5 seems just fine.
