This was an exciting release

I've once again released a version of this application, the third in as many days, because the previous two releases didn't quite fix a really irritating problem loading the Edit page. This didn't affect anyone but me, fortunately. But I could only create and edit entries by running the app in my development environment, which I can't really take with me anywhere.

The root cause of the problems was that SignalR reloads pages all the time when things change on the server. This caused race conditions in the Production environment because things just happened too fast: one operation would be cancelled in favor of another operation, sometimes several times in a row. The Edit page didn't properly account for these cancellations, instead throwing OperationCancelledException messages and refusing to do anything else.

I also discovered that I was scanning the Action Log way too often and without proper indexing, causing the Edit page to take several seconds to load for existing items. I not only fixed that here by being smarter about what history to load, but also by updating the Inner Drive Extensible Architecture ActionLog component to be smarter about writing and reading log entries. (Not only do I eat my own dog food, the entire point of this application is how much I didn't like eating anyone else's.)

As I mentioned Monday, almost all of this trio of releases was about improving the editing experience and updating the data architecture. The next release, which I expect will be sometime next week, will have new features for you, the end users.

It's really fascinating. Every word you used was English. Every word was, when taken out of context and defined on its own, completely comprehensible. It's when I tried to read the phrases that my brain said, "Nope, I'm lost. WTF is he talking about?" I can't follow the story you told. It's not your fault, obviously. It's just... you think very differently than I do because you've been coding for, what, 43 years now? Fascinating that a collection of simple English words can transform into Authentic Frontier Gibberish merely because I'm not a programmer. Sheesh.
