It's easy: spend 4½ hours on trains, ferries, and buses. The return trip from San Rafael yesterday took almost two hours, half on a bus and half on the BART.
I had a great day, met some interesting people, patted a lot of dogs (don't tell Cassie), and expanded the list of breweries I need to visit in the Bay Area. That said: I'm pooped. I will say, being on multiple public conveyances for several hours did wonders to my enjoyment of Echopraxia, which I am about to finish. Good thing I brought two other books and the last two issues of The Atlantic with me.
I'm back in Millbrae, Calif., for the second time this year. I love this little hotel right by the Caltrain and BART, and I love that Millbrae is only one stop from the airport.

CaliforniaI'm traveling to the Bay Area today to see family and, very likely, a couple of breweries. My next post will either be from O'Hare or Millbrae, depending on the puncutality of American Airlines. I got upgraded for this afternoon's flight, though, which almost never happens on this route.
Not all about the election
Two days after the election, we still have 2 Senate races and about 50 in the House that haven't been decided. California and Mississippi both count ballots postmarked on election day, so we can't know the outcomes of some races until 14 and 5 days, respectively, after the vote. If Democrat Scott Colom wins his Senate race in Mississippi, it'll be comeuppance for sitting Senator Cindy Hyde-Smith.
Jeff Maurer just raised a really important point from last night's data, and that is that every Senate candidate US Senator Bernie Sanders (D-VT) endorsed did worse than the winning governor in the same state:
Sit down, Don, you fat motherf---!
Democrats have won the biggest landslide (D+15) in any election since 1974, with the possible exception of 1976. And what happened in 1974? That's right: the previous champion in the Most Corrupt President in History contest got his ass handed to him. Because no matter how anyone tries to spin it, the biggest loser of the night was the OAFPOTUS. He wanted everyone to pretend he was on the ballot yesterday. Well, everyone did.
